Nena Parkes
Having graduated from university with a degree in French and Swedish, Nena studied Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art and on completion received a Fulbright Scholarship for postgraduate study in America where she received a teaching fellowship at the University of Hartford, Connecticut.
“As a young painter I was rigidly abstract and conceptual but after a varied life/work experience I have a more eclectic approach to my work. A piece will be led by materials, location and state of mind. I like to work with both abstract and figurative images to make philosophical or political statements.”
