Anthony Wilder
Anthony studied for his BA at Bath Academy of Art and gained his PGCE from the University of Reading. He taught at Theale Green School and then spent thirteen years as Head of Art at Denefield School in Reading. During this time, he enjoyed a sabbatical year painting in Italy. Since 1998 he has divided his time between painting and teaching part-time in adult education. His work, which is predominantly in watercolour, is about feelings and responses to particular places. In November 2006 he published a book called, ‘Victorian Artists of Wallingford’ documenting artists from his home town. In 2016 he was elected Chairman of Reading Guild of Artists, a post which he held for three very busy years.
