This one-day course will take us through the fundamental concepts of composing a still life using shape, line, colour and texture. We will be working from a three-dimensional still-life, loosely based on the image here. We will be taking a semi-abstract approach and learning how to use compositional tools to pull the composition together. A variety of new and surprising effects and techniques will be used to help create a range of distinctive marks including the use of lettering, fabric, china and flowers.
