Eggs! Still Life Painting in Oils and Acrylics

with Lucy Burton

Tuesday 15th July

10am to 4pm

£105

Suitable for all levels, including beginners

This workshop is about so much more than just painting an egg…it’s about an arrangement of shapes, of colour relationships and subtle shifts in colour and tone.  We will discuss compositional ideas and guidelines, how to mix colours accurately and how to use your ‘artistic licence’ to inject colour into the shadows.

Inspired by the work of Carol Marine/ Ans Debije and Dennis Perrin, the simple shapes and lack of fine detail will enable us to loosen up our brushwork and encourage us to paint in their expressive style.

We will be sketching out our composition on canvas, before applying the paint in a dynamic and interesting way: focusing on colour mixing, brushwork and composition.
