Colour and Form in the Landscape with Sarah Spackman
Thursday 15th July (Village Hall) and Friday 16th July (Main and Upper Studios) from 10am to 4pm
This oil painting workshop will focus on finding form in the landscape and using colour to define it. We will be working directly from the landscape around the village and the aim is to experience and convey key forms and atmosphere through observational painting. Concentrating on analysing colour and tone, students will learn to understand colour relationships within the landscape and develop their own colour mixing. All abilities welcome, but some experience of using oils will be helpful.
Please bring the following items with you:
Oil paints and brushes, some large, roughly size 6
Palette and palette knife
Plenty of rags, Odourless solvent, 2 small boards or canvases roughly 28x36cm (11×14”), sketchbooks, pencils and charcoal, portable easel and stool. Some portable easels will be available at the school for you to use.
Waterproofs- hopefully not….
We will be working outside most of the time but please also have a mask with you for when we are in the school building.
Course fee is £140
