For one day, working from a still life set, you will follow a series of drawing activities, designed to help you experiment away from the purely observational. You will keep your drawings fresh and energetic by the removal of marks as well as making additions, cutting and re-arranging and you too will also move for a different point of view.
Please bring the following materials:
• Charcoal, both compressed and willow types
• Rubbers
• Pencils
• White acrylic paint (you may like to have the odd tube of colour for the later stages but the work is to be predominantly monochrome)
• Acrylic medium if you have some (optional)
• Drawing ink and a stick
• Brushes
• Fixative (this is fairly important as it allows for improved layering when working with charcoal)
An exciting addition…
Can you bring one largeish item to add to the set? This is optional, but it would be fun to add some pieces beyond those which Sunningwell and I can provide. These may stand on the floor, hang from the ceiling or sit on a surface, something with a simple form but interesting decoration, perhaps. They might not all be used so don’t worry if you can’t think of anything.
