This course is open to all skill levels. Hand building and throwing on the wheel will be taught.

The initial focus is on coiling - working with coils or ropes of clay - a highly flexible technique that inspires different shapes, expressive surfaces and importantly, a deep sensitivity and feel for the material.

Basic throwing skills are also covered - how to make a bowl or cylinder - the starting point or foundation to making more interesting and complex forms. Students will learn a variety of glazing approaches using primarily stoneware clays, decorative coloured slips, stains, oxides, underglazes and glazes.

Anthony demonstrates various making and glazing techniques, then encourages students to develop and follow their own ideas with his direction.

The aim is for students to enjoy a friendly supportive environment which encourages imagination, self-expression and creative techniques.
