STILL LIFE WITH COLLAGE with Charlotte Houlihan

As a study for a painting, or as a piece of art in its own right, collage is a wonderful way to explore shape, tone, weight and composition. During this 2-day workshop you will make a series of small studies of a still life – exploring a variety of ways of drawing and recording – and translate these into a finished, expressive collage. We will look at artists using collage in their own work today and explore different ways of manipulating paper – cutting, tearing, painting and scribbling to create a variety of collage materials as well as combining collage with other media to create mixed media pieces.
Suitable for all levels.
