PORTRAIT OF A SOLDIER with Neil Drury
A study in Black and Red
Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th July 10am to 4pm
Course fee £179
A two-day portrait workshop allowing us the opportunity to enjoy the drama and contrast of a fully uniformed and helmeted dragoon soldier.
The strong and dynamic blacks and reds of the uniform will perfectly offset the metallics of the sword, helmet and buttons, see this image of Tissot’s ‘Portrait of Colonel Burnaby.’
A series of short studies will lead us to create a carefully composed portrait painting. These two days will be ideally suited to students of some experience with the desire to develop and augment their skills. All materials and media will be welcome.
