Anthony Eccles
Anthony completed his MA in Ceramics at Bath Spa University in 2014 where he concentrated on experimental work. The resulting sculptures express a physicality and movement that celebrates the expressive potential of the clay and a desire for relaxed spontaneity. His wheel thrown forms act as a canvas – dipped in white slip, then vigorous, gestural overlapping and sweeping marks applied with a ladle. The intention is to trust in the process. Anthony uses soft clay encouraging a looser, more fluid and immediate style of throwing on the wheel. He exhibits regularly across Oxfordshire.
