The Tissue Transfer Technique - A Decorative Skills Pottery Course
with Rose Wallace
Using thrown and hand-built forms such as bowls, beakers, pots and plates we will use traditional transfer skills and slip techniques to decorate surfaces and bring a narrative to your work.
Suitable for Beginners and Experienced
Using thrown and hand-built forms such as bowls, beakers, pots and plates we will use traditional transfer skills and slip techniques to decorate surfaces and bring a narrative to your work.
This course provides an opportunity to create work that explores the skills of traditional tissue transfer techniques enhanced with decorative slip methods. Using her own work as example, Rose will explain why this technique can be used successfully in contemporary wares whilst keeping the qualities of traditional ceramics. Transfer images and slip work will be applied at the greenware stage. These will then be bisque fired and clear-glazed by the School for you to collect at a later date.
