Working from the model with both long and short poses.

Come and enjoy two days of painting and drawing from the life model using your preferred mediums.

The plan is to develop an understanding and familiarity with the model via short to medium length expressive poses and then work on one long pose in a relaxed manner, with plenty of time to develop and finish your work.

The occasion demands an inspiring look at a variety of nudes from Art History: from the grandeur of Lucien Freud, Degas and Rodin, to the exaggerated forms of Schiele, El Greco, Bonnard, and many others. We will also look at some contemporary artists; treatment of the nude, and pay particular heed to matters of proportion, colour mixing, foreshortening and likeness.

A lifetime of life painting and drawing can either start or continue on these two days - enjoyment is guaranteed.

All levels and all mediums will be welcome. Please bring your materials and a packed lunch with you. Tea and coffee is provided during breaks and included in the course fee. Parking is available on site, on the road and at the Village Hall.
