One of my favourite mediums for its brilliance of colour, and ease of application; let's enjoy a two-day workshop using pastels and charcoal to explore and record a beautiful still life with flowers. All levels welcome, including beginners.

Along the way we will consider different types of pastel, their pluses and minuses, and also papers and surfaces to use them with. There are many artists who have exploited the power and delicacy of pastels, and we will look at the best of those: Degas, Redon, Rego and many others. Altogether it will be a great chance to enjoy this delightfully messy medium; bring aprons!
