Alison Berrett

Alison graduated with a BA (Hons.) degree in Fine Art from Exeter College of Art and Design (1991) and holds a post-graduate teaching qualification from Exeter University.

In 2011 she won the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Prize which involved a residency at the Oxford Spires Academy and a commission with The Art Room (using Art as therapy with young people). Alongside working as a professional artist and teaching across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, Alison also managed The Art Room for five years.

In 2020, following her prize-winning entry in The Pastel Society Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, she became an associate artist with Unison Pastels. She exhibited again at the Mall in the ING Discerning Eye exhibition.

Alison is a member of Artcan and The Oxford Art Society and has had several recent solo exhibitions including Oxfordshire galleries Rona Painting, Carey Blyth and Darle and the Bear. She takes part in Oxfordshire Artweeks and is also a creative mentor working with adults who are keen to develop their practice.

She lives in Oxfordshire with open countryside and big skies as inspiration and visits the coast as often as possible having spent her childhood in a seaside town in Somerset. For as long as she can remember she has had a fascination and awe for the incredible power and beauty of the natural world. She has two adult sons and is a full-time artist working from her studio at the bottom of her garden.
