Create with the Cubists - An immersive, mixed media two-day course using collage, paint and graphic materials.

Evocative assemblages inspired by Parisian Cafe culture and the musical imagery present in many late Cubist works will provide strong motifs and compositional potential for the participants' own collaged, painted and mixed media piece.

Linear, multi-angular drawings will be developed into semi-abstracted compositions in simple, carefully managed stages. An exploration of the different approaches by Braque, Picasso and Gris in a range of media will offer plenty of scope for a personal interpretation in the final piece. Suitable for all abilities - the willingness to engage with the experimental and playful spirit that infuses these later Cubist works is the main requirement.

Materials:
A wide variety of collage materials will be provided.

Please bring a craft knife, scissors and any collage materials you may want to use.

There is parking at the school, on the road in front of the school and the village hall car park. Complimentary refreshments are available throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch and small change if you wish to buy paper at the school. Please note - there is no shop in the village.
